Rowley & Fenemere Angling Association - Our Story
Rowley & Fenemere Angling Association is a new club formed by an association of two great clubs that have taken over the former Sabrina Club waters. The former club was sadly in decline, so we as long-established clubs felt a duty to keep this great fishery alive and well. Our mission over time is to improve fishery access and fishing experience as a whole.
We simply didn't have enough time to stay on top of club admin.
As Membership Secretary and Treasurer of the club, I was responsible for all of the admin: managing new memberships, renewals, sending out membership cards and assigning permits. It’s a lot of work, especially since our joining process was made up of completing paper forms and chasing payments manually.
It was a slow process, and I simply didn’t have enough time to do everything. Along with managing the club admin, I managed the website for RFAA as well as the website for another fishing club. This, along with physically preparing and mailing out all membership cards and permits left me with little time to focus on making our club a success.
We had to solve our problems cost-effectively.
I was looking for a solution that would solve all of my problems at a cost-effective price point. The benefits needed to far outweigh the costs so that I could present it to my committee and have them be on board with the idea of moving things online.
I heard about Clubmate and once I’d visited their website I was confident it would be the solution RFAA needed. Their system would help us move our member management online, meaning we could reduce the amount of paperwork involved with running the club. Plus, Clubmate has a fully-managed ID card printing service that would allow me to step away from that responsibility and concentrate on running the club.
The only obstacle was taking that leap of faith and committing to an online system. It’s something I don’t have much experience in, so I was a little nervous. However, after speaking to other fishing clubs that use Clubmate, my fears were allayed. Everyone I chatted to had nothing but great things to say about the software and how much time it had saved them on their club admin.

Running the club has been a completely different experience since signing up with Clubmate. Managing memberships is now painless (for me and our members) and the process of sending permits and ID cards is far more efficient. Now I can focus on running the club and making sure our anglers are getting the most out of their memberships instead of spending all of my time battling mountains of paperwork.
The Bailiff App is a revolutionary tool for Bailiffs. It’s so much easier being able to search member details on a smartphone rather than carrying around paper lists or hoping that the member has remembered to bring their membership documentation with them. Our members are also enjoying being able to take control of their memberships through the Angler App. It’s simple to use so that even our less tech-savvy members can renew and pay by card without leaving their sofa.
We’re able to use the system in a way that suits us and I’m sure the system is going to continue to be a life-saver for us, and best of all, the Clubmate Help Team are always on hand to help if we have any questions. Their support is invaluable and it’s reassuring to know that we can send them a message if we need pointing in the right direction. There’s also a fantastic knowledge base full of guides and instructions to learn from!

Clubmate is great value for money and the time saving is invaluable. Finally, I’m able to concentrate on fishing and adding value to our members instead of trying to stay on top of the admin.
I’m extremely satisfied with the service. It’s made my life a lot easier and our members are loving it.
