Farnborough and District Angling Society

Moved away from paper permits, more efficient member communications, now able to spend more time improving their waters instead of mundane club admin.

Farnborough and District Angling Society is a small society that was established in 1933 to provide access to fishing venues for local anglers. We are based in Northeast Hampshire with a membership limited to a maximum of 200. The membership is made up of approximately 80% pleasure anglers, a proportion of whom are OAPs, disabled and juniors.

Before we got started with Clubmate, our membership secretary spent a lot of time filling out paper permits and sending them to members. If ever we needed to send an email to all members, the secretary would have to enter each member’s email into Outlook – which was a painstaking process. 

We had a series of goals we wanted to achieve at the club, but no way to move forward without a more efficient way of managing everything. Paper permits needed to become a thing of the past due to rising printing costs and especially since they’re not environmentally friendly. We also needed a proper member database to store member information and a more efficient way of contacting our members when we need to communicate important information to them.

Soon after discovering Clubmate, we organised a demo of the software. The service we received from Kevin, one of Clubmate’s account executives, was great. He even came along to one of our committee meetings and demonstrated the software so that our entire committee could see it in action. 

Fortunately, they were all very impressed with the system. We agreed that very night that Clubmate was the solution we were looking for and signed up straight away.
