The Clubmate team will take any excuse to get out on the bank, and that’s exactly what we did at the end of April!
Rob (General Manager at Clubmate) and Alex (Marketing Manager) spent the day with the Embryo Habitats Team at their newest venue doing some fishing, catching up with the team and casting a line or two.
Baston Shallow is the newest Embryo Habitats site to open – and what a stunning place to fish it is. By the end of the day, their patience paid off with some impressive catches, including some 21 lbs, 24 lbs, and 25 lbs fish.
The venue holds around 280 fast-growing carp sourced from Priory Fisheries, VS and Mark Simmond’s. If you visit, you can expect a mix of carp from plain to striking linears and a good number of commons.
A couple of winters ago, the Embryo Fishery Team undertook a major re-landscaping project, draining the lake and reshaping the lakebed to add some underwater features. Six small islands were also added, helping to break up the water and create natural visual dividers for each swim. Check out the venue here.
It was a fantastic opportunity to meet face-to-face with Embryo to get their feedback on their experience using Clubmate to run their fisheries and discuss some of the exciting plans we have for the year ahead.
