We’re excited to introduce our newest member of the team, Rob!
Rob will be joining us as our Customer Success Specialist and he’ll be responsible for onboarding and supporting new clients as they get started with Clubmate, helping to make the transition as easy as possible. Rob will also look after existing Clubmate customers and help them get the most out of the software.
Much like the rest of the Clubmate Team, Rob is a keen angler and has a wealth of experience running fishing clubs, working in the tackle trade, media and more.
“I made a reasonably late start to angling, not casting a line until my teenage years but after that, I was hooked (sorry, I couldn’t help myself!)” Rob jokes.
“I’m an all-rounder and a specimen hunter, although I have plenty of experience in match and general coarse fishing too. I like to keep fishing through the seasons, so I adapt my targets to suit. If I had to pick a species it would have to be chub – and big ones at that! You can fish for them with nearly any method at any time so they always give you an excuse to be out on the bank.”
When discussing his professional experience, Rob says, “I spent most of my life within retail management. I gained a passion for developing people and their skills, realising the importance of work satisfaction. This taught me that colleagues and customers all have individual needs and requirements, strengths and weaknesses – the trick is understanding them so you can help them do what they do best. Bringing the best out in people maximises productivity and so that’s what I strive to do. This is even more vital at fishing clubs, where many of us are unpaid volunteers.”
“I quickly realised that I had as much passion for the angling industry as the fishing, and could clearly see the importance of helping more people get fishing and trying to tackle (sorry again!) some of the challenges the angling community face,” Rob says. “What drew Clubmate to my attention was the obvious benefits the platform offers and how it gives clubs and fisheries access to modern ways of working and better ways of communicating with members old, new and potential.”
